Description

Christmas moss for sale, offered as 5 large clumps. Each individual clump is large enough to cover approximately a 6 inch by 6 inch area when tied to wood or rock, making this ideal for aquascaping a larger piece of driftwood, several smaller pieces, or a moss wall. The photo shows all 5 clumps grouped together on kitchen roll with a ruler for scale. Christmas moss is a popular, hardy aquatic moss valued for its fine, feathery fronds that give a distinctive triangular "fir tree" growth pattern when mature. It is easy to tie onto hardscape with thread or moss glue and will gradually attach itself as it grows, forming a dense carpet or curtain effect over time. It is also widely used as a spawning medium and refuge for fry and shrimp. Suitable for low to high tech planted tanks, this moss will grow under a wide range of lighting but colours up denser and darker under stronger light with CO2. It is undemanding and tolerates a broad range of water parameters, making it a good choice for both beginner and experienced aquascapers. Care Easy to keep. Tie or glue to driftwood, rock or mesh rather than planting in substrate. Trim regularly to maintain a neat, dense appearance and prevent detritus build-up within the moss. Tolerates low light but grows denser and darker green under higher light. CO2 and liquid fertiliser will boost growth rate but are not essential. Feeding Photosynthetic, no feeding required. Benefits from liquid CO2 or fertiliser and occasional micronutrient dosing for denser growth.

Water parameters: 18–28 °C, pH 6–7.5, 2-15 dGH
