Description
Offered here are 10 red bubble tip anemones (Entacmaea quadricolor), each opening to approximately 6-10 inches across. These anemones are around 2-3 years old and originate from aquarium splits, so they are well established and already acclimatised to captive conditions. Bubble tip anemones are a popular choice for marine aquarists wanting a host anemone for clownfish, and they can also look striking as a standalone display piece. They do best in a mature, well-established reef tank with stable water parameters, strong but not excessive lighting, and good water flow that is not so strong it batters the oral disc. As with all anemones, they are capable of moving around the tank to find a spot they are happy with, so secure rockwork and a well-sealed lid or overflow covers are recommended. Care Requires a mature, well-cycled reef tank (ideally 6+ months old) with stable temperature, salinity, pH and zero ammonia/nitrite. Needs moderate to high lighting (LED or T5) and gentle to moderate water flow. Anemones can move position within the tank, especially if unhappy with light, flow or water quality, so secure décor and check for any gaps in the hood/overflow. Avoid housing with species known to sting or eat anemones. Feeding Feed meaty marine foods such as chopped prawn, mysis or silverside 2-3 times per week, offered directly to the oral disc with feeding tongs. Also benefits from the lighting-driven zooxanthellae for a portion of its nutritional needs.
